Line up: Allen – Drums, Matt – Vocals, Rory – Bass and Sophocles – Guitar.
1. When and where was the band founded or What year did it originate and by who?
“Founded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 2019, when Allen and Matt were drinking decided a Slam BDSM project was long overdue. So, Rory and Sophocles were recruited, and CRÈME FLESH was born!”
2. How did the band name come about?
“South Park's episode when Randy Marsh is making Crème Frâiche. Direct pun from the title.”
3. How would you describe the message you typically create?
“Eat your vegetables.”
4. Who are some of the band’s influences?
“DEVOURMENT, SKINLESS, BENIGHTED, LUST OF DECAY, CEREBRAL INCUBATION, SUFFOCATION, INSIDIOUS DECREPENCY, LIVIDTY, MALIGNANCY, and more than we can list.”
5. How did y’all feel signing on with Comatose Music?
“Amazing! Comatose is home to a massive number of bands we’ve loved for years, plus new crushing talent, and the fact that Steve Green owns and runs it, and happens to be a member of LUST OF DECAY, one of our favorite bands of all time, it was an easy decision to reach out to them!”
6. Where all has the band performed?
“Toronto and Brooklyn, NYC so far.”
7. What upcoming shows are we looking forward to?
“We have the privilege of being confirmed to play Texas Domination Fest 2024 in September, which is a true honor! We also have shows currently being put together by promoters, including April 12th at the Bovine Sex Club in Toronto, and others we cants announce as the lineups haven't been finalized.”
8. Which of the Texas Domination Fest three dates, 26-27th, are you guys scheduled to perform?
“Day 2, Friday, September 27th.”
9. How do you guys feel about performing for Texas this September?
“So stoked we can't even accurately describe it! So many bucket list bands on that roster, many of which we never knew we'd even see live, let alone share a stage with.... It's literally a dream come true for us!”
10. What kind of energy can we expect from y’all on stage?
“Every ounce of energy we have and then some, fueled by loads of local BBQ!”
11. What are your favorite songs to perform of the Casablumpkin album?
“Though we play a mix of most of it live, plus a bunch of new material, I'd say “On Her Majesty's Secret Cervix”, “Astroglide Homicide”, and “From Russia With AIDS” are definitely high on the list!”
12. Can you tell me more about any recent or upcoming releases? Single or EP, LP, CD?
“Casablumpkin was a blast to write and record, and we already have more than enough material for a second full length album, which we will likely have recorded by mid-year!”
13. If I was new to the band... What proper introduction (album, song, era) would you suggest I start with?
“On her Majesty’s Secret Cervix and Astroglude Homicide would be two songs that offer up a good idea of what we do.”
14. Is there any words of encouragement you would like to say to your fellow musicians coming on board the scene and/or your fans?
“Keep working on what you love, support your friends and keep good people around you.”
